One of the most important parts of professional wrestling is how a wrestler is presented, and one of the best ways to make a wrestler look cool is to give them cool gear! So today, I will be going over who I think are the Top 10 (active) wrestlers with the best gear! This isn’t going to be a ranking of individual gears, but an overall ranking on who has consistently great gear!
#10: El Desperado
We start our list of with NJPW star El Desperado! Despe is not necessarily known for having the most extravagant gear, however I’m a sucker for a good mask and for my money, Despe has the best masks in all of pro wrestling. I adore the gold accents, as well as the tassels on the back! I hope in the future he brings some more variation to his tights and maybe utilizes some different colors, that’s the only thing preventing him from going further up this list.
#9: Starlight Kid
Next up we have Starlight Kid. Here is another example of me loving a good mask, and Kitto has some of the best. Whether she’s a heel as a member of Oedo Tai, or a babyface as a member of STARS, she always pulled out incredible gear. Personally, I slightly prefer her current gear now that she is a heel. I just love the purple color scheme. She is only above Despe on this list because she brings more variation.
#8: Kiera Hogan
A wrestler you might not first think about when you think of good gear is Kiera Hogan, however during my research for this list, I couldn’t help but be drawn by her gear! I am in love with the flame pattern, especially with the use of many different colors! I hope to see her on AEW TV more, simply so we get to see more of her amazing gears!
#7: The Young Bucks
Next up is the Young Bucks, who definitely aren’t afraid to go all out with their gears. Whether babyface or heel, the Bucks have always pulled out some incredible gears. I always loved the tassels on the tights, and at first I was a bit upset when they went away. However, their new gear style is just as amazing! I love the introduction of the headbands. A personal favorite of mine is their Freddy Mercury inspired gear from the recent All In PPV!
#6: KAIRI
I might be slightly biased because KAIRI is one of my all-time favorite wrestlers, however I am in love with her gear. I love the pirate hat design, especially with the massive feathers. Her ring jackets are always beautiful, and her ring gear is beautiful. I love all the different variations in color schemes and slight design changes. Also, the pirate wheel always pops me.
#5: Swerve Strickland
If you want to talk about cool gear, I don’t think you can get much cooler than Swerve Strickland. Once again, I’m definitely biased because he’s literally my favorite wrestler in AEW right now, but his gear/fashion choices have definitely played a large part in that. He always comes in with a cool ass jacket and cool ass tights. His gear in the first picture above is my personal favorite.
#4 Kenny Omega
Next up is the best-bout machine, Kenny Omega. His regular gear is ok, sure, but his special gear he uses for PPV’s elevate him to another level. He is such a nerd, and he uses that to his advantage. He has NEVER had a bad gear (aside from maybe that one time he came dressed as SANS!) He has the COOLEST PPV gear ever. My personal favorite is his Final Fantasy 7 inspired gear from WrestleKingdom 17 (first picture.) I’ve never played Final Fantasy, but if the game looks this cool, I’m definitely interested!
#3: Saya Kamitani
If I could put entire factions on here, I would definitely put the entirety of Queen’s Quest in this list. However, I can’t do that, so I’m simply going to pick the one with the best colors. I’m a sucker for a green and blue color combo, and Saya pulls it off perfectly. The tassels are great, the QQ robe is great, everything is perfect. Hopefully she gets better soon, so she can rock this amazing gear again.
#2: Thunder Rosa
I love me some face paint, and for my money, nobody does it better than Thunder Rosa. She has such a wide variety of gears, and they’re all absolutely incredible. Whether it’s for weekly TV, or a special event, Thunder Rosa always pulls out some incredible gear. My personal favorite gear of hers is her Kill Bill inspired gear (third picture) which she has used a few times.
#1: Britt Baker
And finally, the gear queen herself, Britt Baker. For my money, she has by far the best gear in pro wrestling. I know that there isn’t really too much special about her gear at first glance, but just look at how beautiful every gear is. The little details in everything, the jacket, the colors, everything is absolutely perfect. I am absolutely in love with her gear. My personal favorite is her gear from this year’s All In.
